Infection Control

Hand Hygiene
Transmission of pathogens on the hands of healthcare workers is the most common cause of cross infection occurring directly from patient contact or indirectly via contact with the environment. Thus, one of the most important measures for preventing the spread of pathogens is effective hand washing.
At KIH, we continuously promote awareness to the general public the importance of hand hygiene. Hand hygiene is therefore considered to be one of the most important procedures in the prevention of cross contamination and cross infection in the hospital.

Waste Management
At KIH, we follow the regulated medical waste disposal standards while disposing all medical waste which are generated from our hospital such as pathological waste including anatomical parts of humans, excluding human corpses and other wastes, such as surgical wastes, needles, syringes and sharps, classified as infectious.
