Surgery - Otolaryngology (ENT)

The Otolaryngology (ENT) Department of KIH is comprised of ENT and Audiology units. It is run by the most experienced ENT consultant with many years of experience in the field of diagnosis and management of ENT conditions. It is supported by fully equipped operation theater including flexible fiber optic laryngoscope. The commonly managed ENT conditions are:

  • Adenotonsillectomy
  • Septoplasty, SMR and Polypectomy
  • Rhinoplasty
  • Drainage of Peroitonsillar Abscess
  • Drainage of Otitis Media and Insertion of Tube Myringotomy

In addition, an Audiologist consultant supervises the Audiology unit that is specialized in the diagnosis of hearing loss as well as problems of altered balance. A variety of common middle ear problems are managed at this unit including infections, middle ear stiffness (otosclerosis) or problems of the tympanic membrane (adhesive or lax membrane). Advice related to hearing aids is also given.
